Judging Procedures for the National American Roller Club

NOTE: It does not matter which color that the judging starts with.
For example only we will start with red.

1. Judging order will start with the red young hen class. Then in order move on to the young cocks, old hens, and old cocks of that color.
2. To pick the best of color bring up the best red YH, YC, OH, OC and pick the best of color.  To pick reserve of color pick from the three remaining class winners, plus the second place bird from the winner's class. Example; Say that the best red was the YC. To pick reserve red you would bring up the second place red YC to compete with the YH, OH, and OC.
3.  Go on to the next color and repeat until all the best of colors and reserves are chosen.
4.  For Champion, bring up all of the color class winners. There should be no more than 5 birds. You should have the best red, black, yellow, dun, and rare color class winners.
5.  To pick Reserve Champion bring up the reserve of color to compete against the other 4 class winners. Example; Champion was the best red. To pick reserve champion you would bring up the reserve red and have the judge again pick the best of the five birds.

Some helpful hints.

At NO time when judging for best of color or reserve of color should you have more than 4 birds before the judge. At NO time when judging for Champion and Reserve Champion should you have more than 5 birds before the judge. If you do you messed up. STOP the judging and go back and re-check.  If you have more than the right number of birds you could have a bird picked that has already been beaten. Don't let someone "sneak" in and steal an award that they do not deserve.
